A Man on the Moon, 3 Volumes: One Giant Leap; The Odyssey Continues; Lunar Explorers – Andrew Chaikin

Read Time:47 Second

S-l225I read a paperback of this years ago – it's the book on which From the Earth to the Moon is based – then picked up a nice hardcover, and then saw this gorgeous three volume illustrated box set and had to have it.  And of course I reread it.

The book wasn't as good as I remembered.  It's still good, but the story is a smaller one about the astronauts of Apollo, and not about the entire program, as I recalled.  So I've been reading other books about the program, some of which I'll post on soon.  Don't get me wrong – this is still the kingfish of books on Apollo, and in this illustrated format it's the one you have to have if you're as obsessed as I am, but it's not the whole story.
