The Essex Serpent – Sarah Perry

Read Time:25 Second

61U76uN5PHL._SY346_I really enjoyed this book.  Good characters, and interesting story, complete with off-stage villain (the proverbial lake monster).  Towards the end the characters all fell dramatically out of character, and while it was entertaining watching several characters fall into bed with each other with no advance warning, it really didn't help the plausibility of the story very much.

But I still enjoyed it – especially the way that the title character made its appearance.  Very nice work by the author.
