Speed Racer (2008)

Read Time:43 Second

Parker and Grayson decided last night was a good time to revisit this favorite, and OMG did we enjoy it. It’s rare that a movie just nails its genre so perfectly, but this one sure did. Over the top ridiculous action and color, it’s the closest thing to an anime cartoon it could be.

I remember when we first saw it I thought that John Goodman and Susan Sarandon were pretty old for the roles, but after 14 years they look pretty young to me now. And it’s embarrassing how the parent/child relationships in the movie get to me, as the father of three boys. (But no monkeys).

Just a great watch with G & P. And fun now to watch how intently they’re watching it and enjoying it. Although still NOTHING like I enjoyed the original when I was in elementary school.
