This is a recent biography on the life of our 40th president that I listened to on Audible. The book was actually quite good, and I enjoyed learning more about Reagan's background.  It was a little surreal listening to a book narrating historical events that I remember listening to. The thing that I noticed was that things that seemed to drag on interminably in real life, such as the time before Don Regan resigned as Reagan's chief of staff, or the senate hearings into Iran-contra affair, take up very little time in the book.

I remember reading recently that Reagan is a particularly difficult character for biographers – I don't know that I would have realized that had I not read that, but after hearing it, it does seem a little difficult to get inside his head and understand what exactly he was thinking and feeling on an individual level.

But a good book – I enjoyed it and would recommend it highly to anyone wanting to understand Reagan's role in the conservative movement better.
