Avro Lancaster B I – 1/144 Minicraft kit

Read Time:42 Second

2017-10-07 18.40.40At some point after 1998 I picked up this little 1/144 scale Minicraft Avro Lancaster (no doubt despairing of ever building the 1/72 scale model again), and at some later point I built it – but never got around to painting the canopy frame.  I was waiting on Parker's P-40 to dry this evening and got tired of looking at this kit without decals, so I finished it up.  The kit is the 1998 release of the 1992 retool.

The model is of W4794, a Lancaster B.I which operated as PH-V with No. 12 Squadron of Bomber Command in Wickenby, Lincolnshire in 1942.  The personal emblem shows the aircraft as having completed five operations.  I was unable to find any information on the crew of this aircraft or its fate.
