Meng Models has put out a "Warship Builder" line of kits, starting with USS Lexington (CV-2). It's a ridiculously detailed kit for a toy, and just adorable, as Parker likes to say. The lower hull is detachable.
The kit is shown in early WW II camouflage, like I'm going to do that. I went with my usual prewar colors, Standard Navy Gray overall with Gunship Gray decks and mahogany flight deck stain with Chrome Yellow markings.
The air group of TBDs, SBDs and a F4F (I didn't feel like building both) are in matching colors, making for a very colorful (as well as adorable) Lady Lex.
