Blitz: A Novel (The Rook/Checquy Files Book 3) – Daniel O’Malley

Read Time:47 Second

I was a big fan of the first installment in the Checquy Files series, The Rook, and enjoyed the second, Stiletto as well. I also enjoyed this one, although not quite as much as the prior ones, probably because the plot is split between two time periods. I generally enjoy that, but I don’t think the book really tied the two together – there was a passing reference towards the end, but that was really it. It was also slightly distracting that both time periods involved exclusively female protagonists. I say it was only slightly distracting because there were three in one, and only one in the other, but in retrospect, it probably would have been better to have had the single be a man so it was clearer that it was two separate storylines.

Still, the Checquy universe is one that I enjoy very much, and I have been looking forward to this book for some time.
