This is how crazy my life is.
In Houston for a hearing, and am packed for five more days on the road after the aborted jury selection yesterday in Marshall. Headed to San Francisco tomorrow to speak at a seminar Thursday.
Hearing at 10 am in federal court, where I managed to get lost looking for the men’s room, then to cocounsel’s office, then back to the room to check emails and respond. Then after taco lunch (did you know there’s a taco named after Carol Burnett?) work on LL.M. module on focus groups – read readings and watch lectures. In the middle of that, work with partner to prepare for a 4pm call on a case, then run next door to meet a colleague for coffee and to learn about some business services. Which turned into a conversation about WW II (that happens with me).
No, 4pm call’s off so we’re sending info by email – can you opine on how to thread a particular needle? And another case blew up and needs five briefs prepared and filed next week – what are we doing about that? Wait, a second one did too. Need to have a call with the team on that one this evening. And here’s the outline for our panel presentation on Thursday – need to study that.
Oh, and TexasBarCLE here, could you tell us in the next 72 hours if you can speak on patent venue in February? Okay. Ten minutes later – how about ethics in copyright litigation in June? Sure. Why not?
I’m complaining. Just making an observation. My life is nuts.
